On 26th December 2013, Ms. Pratibha Sharma, Assistant Professor from Computer Science and Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented a paper titled “Image Security using Cellular Automata Rules” in the International Conference on Soft Computing and problem Solving, SocPros’13 held at IIT Roorkee Extension Center, Greater Noida. SocProS is a young series of International Conferences under the joint collaboration between a group of faculty members from IIT Roorkee, ABV-IIITM Gwalior and Liverpool Hope University, UK.

The Conference started with the inaugural speech delivered by Prof. Pradipta Banerjee, Director IIT Roorkee as Chief Patron in the august presence of Dr. Y S Negi, Professor – in- Charge, Saharanpur Campus of IIT Roorkee as Conference Chair and Dr. Chander Mohan Retd. Professor, IIT Roorkee as Honorary Chair. The key-note address was delivered by Prof. Ferrante Neri, Academy Research Fellow (Akatemiatutkija), the Department of Mathematical Information Technology, University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He explained the scope and significance of “Optimization of grounding systems by means of evolutionary algorithms” in research.

The conference was useful as the participants availed the opportunity to interact with senior academicians and enhance their knowledge in the field of soft computing.
