Ms. Shalini Sharma (Roll No. 14091) a student of Fifth Semester (Dept of Computer Science Engineering) represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon as “Google Student Ambassador” in a four-day Google India Community Summit-2013 organised by Google from 1st August to 4th August 2013 at the Leela, Goa.

The objective of this summit was to bring together Google Business Group (GBG) Managers, Google Developer Group (GDG) Managers, and Google Student Ambassadors (GSA) from across India for an intensive training on community management, best practice sharing and product knowledge. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience first-hand what the Google communities are all about.

Through different sessions, the distinguished speakers Ms. Noha Salem, University Relation Manger Google; Mr. Ravi Gururaj, The Chairman of NASSCOM Product Council; Mr. Deepak Sridhar, Mr. Kshitiz Anand, Mr. Mandan Padaki, Head Held High; Ms. Pooja Srinivas from CYCO (Connect Your Community Online); Mr. Syed Malik, Mapmaker; Mr. Sunil Rao, Ms. Shalini Prakash, Ms. Sagiri, The Community Manager, Gmail shared valuable inputs on a variety of technical topics like Google Design Guidelines, Online Safety, Google App for Education, YouTube for Education, Monetizing Opportunity Mobile Apps etc.

Ms. Shalini Sharma and her group members “Alpha One” got the first prize for designing the best and effective event in “Campus Simulation”, a competition held on the fourth day of Google India Community Summit-2013. The summit was an eye-opening for the attendees as they came to know about the technical applications of Google and other products.
