On 6th September 2013, a group of ten students from Computer Science Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, attended the Curtain Raiser for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Computer Society of India at Kothari Hall, DRDO Bhavan, New Delhi. The students were accompanied by three faculty members Mr. Vijender Singh Hooda, CSI Head DCE; Mr. Ashish Luhach and Mrs. Meenakshi Memoria.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Kapil Sibal , Hon’ble Minister for Law and Justice, Communications, and Information Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Other distinguished guests Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Advisor, Govt. Of India; Mr. J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Deity, MCIT,  Govt. Of India; Shri S Mahalingam, Dr. Ratan Dutta, Former Presidents, CSI were welcomed by  Shri S. Ramanathan Hon’ble. Secretary, CSI.Prof. S.V. Raghavan, President CSI shared a brief about Golden Jubilee of Computer Society of India (CSI).

As a part of the event, a  discussion on “Kal Aaj Aur Kal”- Role of CSI in the modern cyber era was held by fourpanelists included  Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Advisor, Govt.Of India; Mr. J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Deit Y, MCIT, Govt Of India; Shri S. Mahalingam, Dr. Ratan Dutta, Former Presidents CSI. They discussed various strategies to be implemented in order to improve the working of CSI across the country.

The celebration was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. HR Mohan, Vice-President of Computer Society of India.
