On 25th October 2013,  Mr. Amar Saraswat,  Assistant Professor, Computer Science Engineering Departmentof Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended  a one-day IET Lord Austin Lectureon “Learning through Accidents Investigation in the UK” organized by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) at The National Rail Museum, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Ms. Carolyn Griffiths, Chief Inspector, Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB), United Kingdom was the Guest speaker. She elucidated the significant issues related to Railwaysin the august presence of Shri Kul Bhushan, Member Electrical, Railway Board and Ex-Officio Secretary to Government of India, New Delhi.  She also shared the recommendations made by RAIBin this area, which will serve as valuable insights for Indian Railways and related industries. Her lecture was followed by the award ceremony wherein “The outstanding Engineer Award” was presented to Shri R. K. Upadhyay, Chairman & Managing Director, BSNL and Shri B P Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL.

The lecture was beneficial for the attendees to know about different approaches to reduce rail accidents.
