A group of five Dronacharyans - Bibhuti Bhusan (Roll No.14020), Amit Gupta (Roll No.14010), Gaurav Singh Rawat (Roll No.14030), Hemalata (Roll No.14034), Jyoti Yadav (Roll No.14041) from Computer Science and Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in a two-day workshop on “Android” from February 19th to 20th,2013 organized at IIT-BHU, Varanasi in collaboration with Blue Eminence Technology, New Delhi.

Extremely talented trainers from Blue Eminence Mr. Devesh Wadhwa, Senior Research Engineer and Mr. Abhinav Saini, Research Engineer started with introduction to JAVA and XML followed by ANDROID architecture overview and setup of Android Development Environment which consisted of a short description on the four layers which are Application, Application Manager, Library and the Driver. After that the participants were introduced to the fundamentals of Android Applications, Building Blocks, Activating and Shutting down components. They were also introduced to the difference between Linux and Linux Kernel on which Android works.

The workshop was useful as the participants also had a practical session in which they learnt about android apps, Layout Application, GPS Output, Touch screen Application, SMS Manager Application etc.
