Prof. B.M.K. Prasad, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a program “Building India – Relevance of Ethics in Education” on 23rd Dec,2013 at Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), New Delhi,organized by The Times of India in association with Rau’s Study Circle. The event aimed at addressing larger issues of holistic models related to Ethics in Education.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India was the Hon’ble Chief Guest for the event. He enlightened the participants about relevance of ethics and moral values in education system. Sharing his personal experience of school life he stated that one can change the total environment in any educational institution with hard working, harmony and purity of life which radiates among the students. Enunciating the mission of teachers, Dr. Kalam gave a message to be a lamp, a lifeboat and a ladder to help someone’s soul heal.

Mr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman CBSE; Lt. Sanjiv Kaura, CEO-CSR, The Times Groups; Mr. Ved Prakash Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, Rau’s Study Circle and Ms. Surina Rajan, Principal Secretary-Ministry of Education,Govt. of Haryana also shared their ideas on developing Innovative methods and techniques for integrating values and ethics in educational system, exploring tough ethical dilemmas inherent in running educational institutions and to communicate ethical decisions effectively, bridging the gap between Academic Preparation and Ethical Development.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Sidharth Birla, President, FICCI.
