On 19th Dec 2013, Prof. B.M.K Prasad, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the INSA-PMS Blackett Memorial Lecture-2013 by Sir Paul Nurse, President of The Royal Society, London andNobel Laureate in Physiologyon Controlling the Cell Cycle at Convention Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi. The program aimed at imparting knowledge about various Cell related problems in Human Body was coordinated by Prof. Krishan Lal, President, Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and Prof. S.K. Sopory, FNA, Vice Chancellor, JNU, New Delhi.

Prof. Paul Nurse briefed the basic problems and serious diseases related with genes like cancer,for which number of experiments are being carried out all across the world. He analyzed the working network of genes controlled by particular enzyme, catalytic protein complex problem cycling the cell which appears and disappears accordingly.

He also gave the idea of molecular applications of DNA for different species which are twenty times larger and active with regulated cycling processes valid for two levels- for low and high levels depending upon the activeness. The whole regulatory work through which all genes are identified reduce complexity of this network by collecting genes with protein that simplify the system and sub-system in particular circumstances psychologically.

Sir Paul Nurse highlighted the contributions made by Dr. Danium of France, who is working in details of replacing the gene with dot net CDC-13 and CDC-2.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof.Krishan Lal and presentation of memento to Sir Paul Nurse by Prof. S.K. Sopory.
