On 1st October 2013, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a demonstration on “Virtual Labs” in association with IIT Delhi. Virtual Labs is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt of India under the National mission on Education through ICT.

The objective of the demonstration was to make the participants well conversant with the principles and functions of Virtual Labs. Mr. Harsh Singh Sodhi and Mr. Bhirava Chander Patra, from IIT Delhi were the key speakers for the event.

Mr. Sodhi explained the need to design Virtual Labs, highlighting its important features.He demonstrated practical experiments of variouslabs like Basic electronics, Circuit Theory and VLSI designing. Mr. Patra demonstrated experiments on Digital System Design (DSD), Computer Networks and Data Structure through animation.

Mr. Tanmay Tarun Das, Project Incharge, IIT Delhi also provided hands-on information to the students about the benefits of Virtual Labs.

The demonstration wasa good learning experience providing an exposure to handling experiments at labs located in other institutions without using the costly equipments. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the student coordinators Saniya Puri and Vipul Verma.
