A group of four Dronacharayans- Pankaj Mehendiratta, Roll No. 13202, Parth Khanna, Roll No. 13204, Prashant Tomar, Roll No. 13209 and Rohit Sharma (13224) from the Deptt. Electronics & Communication Engineering attended a two- day National Workshop on “MATLAB and Its Application in Digital Image & Signal Processing” organised by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. This workshop was organised from 7th to 8th March, 2013.

The aim of workshop was to bring together people from both academia and industry to have hand on experience on application of Research topics such as soft computing, machine learning, pattern recognition, Fuzzy logic, neural networks, genetic algorithms, chaos theory methods, Pattern recognition etc .

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. R. C Tripathi, Program Chairman, IIIT, Allahabad. He shared the innovative techniques which may be applicable in the field of Soft computing and signal processing for the welfare of society in general. Other eminent speakers were Prof. M. Radhakrishnan, Prof. Anupam Aggarwal and Mr. Mahesh Anand from IIIT, Allahabad who communicated their knowledge and interacted with participants. The participants were given certificates by Hon’ble Chief- Guest Prof. R. C Tripathi.

This National Workshop was useful to the participants as they learnt how to use soft computing & machine learning as a tool to develop a deeper understanding for creating custom solutions.
