SECOND VISION

A group of students from Mechanical Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon demonstrated their innovative project “Power Generation by Ocean Waves” at a three-day Mega Trade Fair- Second Vision Haryana-2012 held at Sirsa from 28 to 30 October 2012.

The Mega Trade Fair was inaugurated by Mr. Ashok Tanwar, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Sirsa, Haryana on 28th October 2012. Addressing the participants he said that a technical exhibition is organised to showcase the innovation, technical creativity of engineers, technocrats and entrepreneurs in the interest of common man of the Nation. He emphasized that one must contribute his best to the services of Society through making various projects, tools and other applicable devices.

A number of students participated in this National Exhibition and showed their useful projects. They also explained the working and benefits of their projects. In the Mega Trade Fair many projects and models were exhibited from different areas like Agriculture, Environment, Science & Technology, Electricity, Bio-medical, Mechanical and other related fields.

Mr. Naveen Kumar, Mr. Harjeet Singh from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon demonstrated a useful project “Power Generation by Ocean Waves” under the guidance of Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Assistant Professor, Deptt. Of Mechanical Engineering. The students also explained the working of the project for electricity generation and water desalination etc. They also told that through this project the power will be generated more and more that may reduce the cost of electricity. The salient feature of this project was that the same amount of power will be available to a common man at lower rate. They answered the queries asked by other participants and visitors.

On 30th October, 2012 Hon’ble Chief- Guest Mr. Ashok Tanwar, Member of Parliament gave away the First Prize to Dronacharyans for their project under the category of budding innovation. He appreciated the calibre of the young technocrats and their spirit to work for welfare of the Society.
