NSS CAMP

NSS Unit at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised a seven-day camp from 21st to 27th February 2012 to aware people from slum areas. It was inaugurated by the Principal, DCE Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad. Addressing the volunteers, he said that the college would encourage the volunteers through providing all possible help in the service of mankind. He reiterated that the commitment of the college fraternity on taking up social problems as a challenge. He shared that the college has opportunity to have the maximum number of volunteers in the field of social and national services.

During these seven days camp, the volunteers distributed clothes, biscuits, medicines, books etc. NSS unit organised rally and skit on various social malpractices like Dahej-Pratha, Bal–Vivah, Corruption, Anti-drugs, Child labour, Hazards of Polybags etc. NSS volunteers with coordinators set their step forward for Yoga and Meditation Camp for villagers of adopted villagers, where they gave lectures on Health and Hygiene and First–Aid Training . They also presented their views on female foeticide, cleanliness, literacy so that every citizen of India may live happily.

On the closing ceremony, Hon’ble Dr. Satish Yadav, Chairman, Dronacharya Group of Institutions motivated the volunteers, program officers to take more initiatives for social welfare. He appreciated the work done by the volunteers in ending services like Cleanliness Drive, Tree Plantation, Blood Donation, Literacy, Health and Hygiene, Pollution Control etc. Hon'ble Chairman expressed that Dronacharya College of Engineering is in dynamic equilibrium with its social, ecological and economical environment and the college fraternity must go head with the mission of social services and such programmes help in the development of society as well as for the Nation.

The camp concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ashok Kumar, The Programme Officer (NSS unit). He expressed his gratitude to the magnanimous management, Hon'ble Principal, Dean (Academics), Advisor, all HOD’s and faculty members for all support and cooperation. He also thanked the volunteers for their active participation.
