DREAMSPARK

The determination and dedication of the students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attracted the personnel of MICROSOFT, INDIA for organizing the DREAMSPARK YATRA for the third consecutive time.

The Department of Computer Science Engineering organised a one-day Dream Spark Yatra (an initiative of Microsoft, India) on 3rd April 2012 at the college campus. The main objective behind organizing this event was to broaden the technical horizon of the students pursuing a career in Computer Science/IT and to inject them with skills of techno- professional world.

Mr. Vinod Unnay, Regional Director for Microsoft North India, Mr. Syed Mustapha, a Software Engineer in TCS, Mr. Vikalp Handa, Microsoft Student Partner from Chandigarh, Mr. Piyush Saini, an expert on Cyber Crimes were speakers who shared their views on Windows, Windows Phone 7, Cloud Computing, Microsoft XAN Game studio 4.0 empowering students who are passionate about technology to get an insightful overview of the current trends in the software industry.

More than 300 students from various Universities/ Colleges like Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, ITM Gurgaon, Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology, New Delhi, GITM, Gurgaon, HMR Institute Of Technology and Management , New Delhi, Gurgaon College of Engineering for Women, Gurgaon, Ch. Brahm Prakash Govt. Engineering College, IP University, Northern India Engineering College, Delhi Ambedkar Institute of Technology, New Delhi participated and got a chance to watch all of it in action - virtually or in person and also interact with presenters.

Hon’ble Chairman Dronacharya Group of Institution Dr. Satish Yadav presented mementos to the Guest Speakers as a token of reverence. He appreciated the initiative of Microsoft and assured the best cooperation for organizing such technical events in future.

The event ended with a vote of thanks by Convener, Ms. Neelam Ruhil, (Associate Professor, Deptt. of CSE). She expressed the gratitude to the Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad, HOD (CSE) Prof. (Dr.) S.V. Nair, the guest speakers and participants for making this event more useful to the participants.
