EDC WORKSHOP

Entrepreneurship Development Cell at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon celebrated Entrepreneurship Orientation Program on 17th August 2012. The objective of this celebration was to make the students aware about entrepreneurship and its scope for young technocrats.

The one-day program also intended to motivate students to create jobs for themselves and also to develop individuals from varied backgrounds, who have the courage to dream, the potential to make a difference, the ability to believe in themselves and the determination to convert their thoughts into action.

Inaugurating the programme, Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad  enlightened the participants on the necessity of Entrepreneurship in today’s world, particularly in India. He also emphasised on the social and political forms of entrepreneurial activity to be undertaken for welfare of society and Nation.

Hon’ble Guest-Speaker Mr. Ankur Singla, CEO & Founder of AKOSHA, New Delhi addressed the participants and judged their ideas for better implementation.

Another Guest speaker Mrs. Kalpana Sinha, NEN Consultant, New Delhi shared the  stepwise approaches to develop business plans and models. Mr. Anil Garg, Chief Manager, Syndicate Bank, Gurgaon, shared his experiences of the real entrepreneurial world and also discussed some issues like finance, investment and loan.

A number of exercises like E-Quiz, Idea Generation Exercise etc were conducted to give the students flair of entrepreneurship. Some inspirational videos on the theme “Innovative Ideas for Entrepreneurship” were showcased to prove how we can effectively utilize our limited resources in an efficient way. Mrs. Swati Jha, member of EDC at DCE, Gurgaon  encouraged the participants to come up with innovative ideas to set up independent “Campus Companies” for development of Entrepreneurial Spirit within the campus exactly on the patterns of IITs and IIMs.

During the programme, the participants were made aware how to take initiatives and get positive outputs. They were also motivated and inspired to excel in the Entrepreneurial World.

The program ended with Certificate and Prize Distribution ceremony.  Dr. Vimla Yadav Member (EDC) expressed the deepest gratitude to all - organizers, participants and guests.
