On 04th October 2013 Prof. (Mrs.) Swati Jha, Head, the department of Electronics and Computer Engineering represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in a one-day Conference on “Innovation in Action” organized by TiEcon Delhi 2013-at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. TiEcon Delhi 2013 is the most active and approachable platform and facilitator for entrepreneurs, investors, entrepreneurs and ideators.

The conference was focused on bringing out disruptive business models, translating thoughts into action and celebrating success as well as failure at each step of entrepreneurship.

Inaugurating the conference Mr. Deep Kalra, Chairman and Group CEO, Makemytrip and President, TiE Delhi-NCR shared that entrepreneurs not only innovate, they translate innovative ideas into reality. Furthermore, they energize the ecosystem, create jobs, grow economies and create wealth.

Other distinguished speakers Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Chairman, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI); Mr. Pramod Bhasin, Founder and Vice Chairman, Genpact; Mr. Anish Shah, President & CEO, GE Capital; Mr. Erez Tsalik, Director Asia Pacific, SIT (Systematic Inventive Thinking) International, Israel and Ashish Dhawan, Founder & CEO, Central Square Foundation shared their views on various topics related to entrepreneurship, innovation and job opportunities.

A session on “Celebrating Failure-Stepping Stone to Success” was chaired by Ms. Shweta Punj, Associate Editor, Business Today wherein Ms. Kiran Majumdar Shaw, Chairman and MD, Biocon; Mr. William Bissell, MD, Fabindia; Mr. Deep Kalr, Chairman and Group CEO, Makemytrip; Mr. Madhur Bhandarkar, Film Director shared different strategies and experiences for becoming a successful entrepreneur.

The conference was interesting, exciting and useful to the participants as they learnt the ideas how to overcome failure and lead the world of entrepreneurship.
