EDC FEB-13

By the establishment of an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) since 2009, the college has strived to educate and train people by developing entrepreneurial capabilities through positive training interventions. E-week of 2013 was celebrated at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon with vigour and enthusiasm keeping in mind the Theme for this E week i.e. “Innovation For India”. DCE collaborated with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Technopreneur Promotion Program (TePP).

Day 1

E-leaders Garima Bhasin and Molisha Mehra began the inaugural ceremony addressing the audience about DCE-E cell and previous year’s events and theme. Mr. Govind Sharma, Senior Manager NRDC gave insight into entrepreneurship qualities and enlightened the audience with his words. Mr. Vishal Bharti discussed a Case Study, “Penguine” to demonstrate the concerns of an Entrepreneur and the decisions they have to make. Briefing about Idea Generation Exercise was done by Mrs. Swati Jha. Students thought of innovative ideas on the theme and presented them in front of EDC jury members. The day ended with the briefing of Rs 50 exercise by E- Leader Rishabh Kumar Taneja.

Day2

E-leaders Rishabh Kumar Taneja and Anurag Saini welcomed the honourable speaker Mr. Gagan Aggarwal, Indian Angel’s Network. He elaborated on government’s efforts to help people to generate innovative ideas, back entrepreneurs by providing loan facilities and collaborating with them till the ideas are executed. He gave lots of examples to encourage the audience and shared his personal experiences. Followed by his speech, the teams of participants gave presentation of Rs 50 exercise in which they showed video clips and photographs of their team effort which was appreciated by the jury members.

E-Leader Ms. Nitu Chaudhary, VIII sem IT department gave a presentation on her visit to IIT Kharagpur for GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT 2013 held from 11th - 13th Jan. She was accompanied by Mr. Yashwardhan Soni (faculty member from IT department) and E-Leader Abhay Singh Rathore, VIII sem ECE department. The seven domain model by John Mullins-An opportunity evaluation framework was discussed by Mrs. Vimla Yadav, faculty member of EDC. Mr. Yashwardhan Soni, faculty member EDC, discussed the case study on “Opportunity Recognition and Team composition”.

Day 3

E-leaders Harmandeep and Anuj Yadav briefed the audience with the programme of the day. Movie October Sky was shown to participants to explain the concepts of Entrepreneurship and application of those in real life scenarios. Honourable guest Mr. Vikas Rajput, Founder and head of operation of parallel level research centre, had an interactive session with the students shared his knowledge and experience. He explained the Business model in a very interesting way and also made the students work on a Business Plan. Mrs Kalpana Sinha, Consultant from NEN discussed about NEN and its efforts to promote Entrepreneurship in colleges and institutes. Mr Raj Mehta from IIT Delhi, elaborated on TePP-Technopreneur Promotion Programme. He elaborated on support schemes for Entrepreneurs. The three day interactive and informative workshop came to an end with the Certificate distribution ceremony by respected Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad.
