With a vision to avail an opportunity to serve the society, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised a Blood Donation Camp on 11th March 2013 in coordination with the Gurgaon based-South City Centre of Rotary Club. The camp was inaugurated by the Chief-guest Hon’ble (Smt.) Kailash Yadav, General Secretary, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Gurgaon. Motivating the students she said: "Blood transfusion saves lives, but millions of patients needing this do not have timely access to safe blood. However, it is estimated that donation by 1% of the population is on average the minimum needed to meet a nation's most basic requirements for blood. As such, if such camps become ideal followings, patients being treated for accidents, surgery, premature deliveries, needing platelets etc will certainly have 100% chances of gaining speedy recovery. In fact, through this camp every one of us gets a chance to donate at least one unit (350ml) of blood." She also thanked the personnel of Rotary Blood Bank, Saket, New Delhi for utilising their precious time for social welfare. Mr. A.S. Grover, President, Rotary Club of Gurgaon; Mr. B. D. Pahuja, Secretary, Rotary Club of Gurgaon; Mr. K. S. Yadav, Chairman, Blood Donation Camp; and other members of Rotary club like Mr. Subhash Verma, Mr. Narain Singh, Mr. Ved Gulati, Mr. Rakesh Jain, Mr. S. S. Grover, Mr. K. S. Sandhu and Mr. Parveen Sharma were present in the camp. |
