Eco-club plays an important role in spreading environmental awareness among students and mobilizing their participation in environment related activities. A group of people who are interested in doing something for environment can achieve much more than an individual can do. All sorts of clubs can be formed, but an eco-club will enable us to do positive about the environment. |
Eco-clubs gives us important platform to create awareness about environment and sustainable development issues. Paryavaran-club at Dronacharya College of Engineering has already installed Rain water harvesting system in our college campus with an aim of recharging ground water. Every year, in co-ordination with NSS, tree plantation is initiated by the club.Extension Lectures are organized from time-to-time on the occasion of Earth Day, World Environment Day and World Ozone Day etc. The club organizes visits to various National parks and sanctuaries for motivating environmental awareness among students and staff. Every year Eco club organizes many events; in 2009 the club organized poster presentation on “Environment Crisis”, in 2010 on “Global Worming” and in 2011 on “Waste Water Management”and in 2012“Alternative energy resources”. In these activities students participated and etched out various environment issues on paper. Further, time to time various quiz competitions and extempore which encourage students to update their knowledge wasalso held.
In the campus beautification scheme, Eco club look into the installation of large bins in the campus and also guide the students to use compost or organic manure for gardening along with sprinkling methods of irrigation.

Visit to various projects, which are working for waste water and waste land management. |
