Chalking out the ways to conserve the environmental heritage of our country, Paryavaran Club of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a one day event “Plead of Earth” on 16 Nov 2010. Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav, Dronacharya Group of Institutions inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest. Discussing the issues of environmental hazards, he said, “The beauty of India lies in its rich environmental splendor and to conserve this rich heritage, we, as responsible citizens of India should make efforts to protect the environment by adapting to wise means”. Combating the situation of severe climate change, the role of teachers in orienting protection should be looked for. He also expressed his views and made the gathering aware on water crisis, pollution and climate change etc. Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K Prasad said that the problem of environmental degradation is a global issue, and the role of teachers is very much imperative in this kind of a situation. He emphasized that the major threats to human survival comes from interrelated problems like that of increasing population, Ozone depletion, deforestation, release of harmful gases, global warming, air-pollution and rapid depletion of natural resources. He made the students aware on the crisis and changes in Environment. Chairman Prof. (Dr.) S. Krishan Yadav of Paryavaran Club, also shared his views that the role of teachers and educators is of prime importance where they need to develop environmental sensitivity, development of environmental ethics, positive attitude towards environment among all. Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Onkar Singh & all HOD’s with Other Dignitaries were also present in the Auditorium of the College.
Hon'ble Principal, distributed a certificate of participation to all members of Paryavaran Club. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Coordinator of Paryavaran Club, Mrs. Teena Sharma. She expressed her heart - felt gratitude to Hon’ble Chairman, Principal, Faculty & all Staff Members and appreciated the contribution of participants in making the event a grand success. |
