SEMINAR ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP

With increasing number of our students showing interest and enthusiasm in entrepreneurship through our various entrepreneurship awareness programs, the college organized a three days seminar on entrepreneurship from 6th September to 8th September 2010. The event was organized in collaboration with Hardicon Ltd, New Delhi.  The seminar was attended by seventy students from various branches.

On the first day of the seminar we had a formal inauguration session. The chief guest, Mr. Sujit Banerjee, Director, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India, addressed the budding entrepreneurs. He categorically mentioned the facilities provided by the government of India to young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs. He inspired the students to take up new ventures as India is a developing economy and there is lots of scope for improvement. He even discussed the benefits, the society gets, if its young minds explore the opportunities around and open up new enterprises.

After his session we had the privilege of  hearing the views Mr. R. K. Zutshi, CEO, Hardicon Ltd. who inspired the students and shared his experiences. He introduced his company and elaborated on the various projects done by his team. He was followed by Mr. Sunil Keshwani, Project Associate, Hardicon Ltd. He gave the mool mantra of being positive on a hilarious note saying “all entrepreneurs have only one blood group that is Be Positive”.

On the second day morning session, we had Mr. S. K. Bhatt  who was a very experienced consultant and he shared a few real life examples of entrepreneurs, the problems they faced and how his consultancy provided them the solutions. On the same day, in the afternoon session, we had Mr. R. K. Gupta who is a retired banker from Oriental Bank of Commerce. He shared his knowledge about loan facilities for entrepreneurs. He is a visiting faculty for teaching entrepreneurship to ABES, IT Group of Institutions, Gaziabad.

On the third and final day of the seminar we had with us Mr. Anil Verma, Project Associate, Hardicon Ltd. He himself is a successful entrepreneur for last two decades now. He very interestingly discussed the traits of entrepreneurship and discussed a few avenues for engineering graduates specially.

In a nutshell, the program turned out to be a success not only because the students had the privilege of listening to experienced and knowledgeable entrepreneurs and faculty but also because they departed with an intension of putting the knowledge gained into an enterprise some day.
