EXPEDITION 2010

The Department of Information Technology, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an event “EXPEDITION 2010” from 27th October 2010 to 30th October 2010 in its beautiful, fully air-conditioned auditorium. The event was inaugurated by Professor (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad, Principal, DCE. He shared that the credit of scintillating success of students at DCE goes to the sterling students and the dedicated faculty members who work in utmost subordination to the dedicated, dynamic and scholastic Head of the departments. Encouraging the students, he shared that many Dronacharyans have gone to Australia, Canada, U. K. and U. S. for higher studies.

In the first two days a workshop WEB-WHIP was organized in collaboration with “i-3indya technologies”, which imparted in-depth knowledge of Joomla on web designing planning. Joomla is a Content Management System platform for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets as well as a Model View Controller.

Mr. Satish and Mr. Jaspreet from i3indya technologies conducted this workshop and kept the participants spellbound.

The next phase of the event was held on 29 October focusing on emerging trend in information technology. This National seminar attracted students as well as faculty members of different colleges to present their research papers on topics like cloud computing, web spoofing, intrusion detection system, RFID technology, voice over IP, Cyber Crime etc.

The program was concluded on 30 October with “METAMORPHOSIS -Initiation to Perfection”. This conference aimed at transforming the young individuals into successful professionals. In the current industrial scenario where successful professional career demands an outstanding individual with the culmination of qualities like leadership, confidence and competency, some big shots from the industry and the proud alumni of DCE showed up to guide the students in forming their career path.

Mr. Anurag Prakash Lal, Independent Consultant, member of selection board IIMB, graced the event and shared his experience. Mr. Anshul and Mr. Gurmukh, faculty members from T.I.M.E discussed the various skills required in cracking the aptitude and group discussions and Interviews respectively.

Kavita Kulwant, Pankaj Tejaria, Jawahar Gadhvi and Lucky Devgan, proud alumni of DCE, Gurgaon also shared their experiences. Principal Dr. B. M. K. Prasad, Dean Academics Prof Dr. Onkar Singh, H.O.D IT Dr. Jitender Kumar and other invitees encouraged the students for their enthusiasm and zeal. Dr. Jitender Kumar thanked the management, faculty and above all the students of IT dept who were responsible for the success of this event.
