ONE DAY NSS CAMP

The NSS Unit of Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Gurgaon organized a one-day camp on 15 October 2011 with a theme on “Tree plantation & Cleanliness Drive”. It was inaugurated by the Chief - Guest Mrs. Charanjeet Kaur, State Liaison Officer, Punchkula (Haryana). Dr. Ami Lal Yadav, State Liaison Officer, (Rtd.) and Dr. Anita from Dronacharya Govt. College, Gurgaon were the guests of honour.

Addressing the NSS volunteers, Hon’ble Principal Prof. B. M. K. Prasad shared that DCE, Gurgaon produces not only competent Engineers but also volunteers who render their self - less services for the welfare of society and nation. He emphasised that the spirit of social services has been dominant on Dronacharyans since the inception. NSS volunteers are the real eyes to make the rural and urban people realize the evils of the community. The college has the opportunity to have the maximum number of volunteers in the field of social and national services like NSS, Commonwealth Games, and Yamuna Cleanliness Drive etc. It is a leading college in rendering services to humanity through its philanthropic programs as organizing Eye Camp, Blood Donation Camp, Tree plantation etc. Further, he reiterated that under the able guidance and cooperation of Mrs. Charanjeet Kaur, State Liaison Officer, the volunteers acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes for the services of National integration.

Hon’ble Chief Guest Mrs. Charanjeet Kaur, State Liaison Officer, Punchkula (Haryana) also appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers at DCE, Gurgaon. She expressed that these volunteers do also work with villages, slums and other areas of society to propagate useful messages on Small Family Norms, Health, Education, Foeticide, and Cleanliness etc. She also communicated that under the rational planning of the Program Officer Mr. Ashok Kumar, the volunteers at DCE are encouraged to develop and maintain their character, discipline, social awareness and commitment and moreover helpful attitudes towards the community.

The Camp turned out to be a grand success as many NSS volunteers, staff & faculty members enthusiastically participated in Tree plantation & Cleanliness drive under the able guidance of Mr. Ashok Kumar and Mrs. Sangeeta Singla. The programme ended with a vote of thanks to all NSS volunteers by the Programme Officer, Mr. Ashok Kumar. He expressed his gratitude to the management, Principal, Dean, Registrar, All HODs and every member associated with NSS Camp.
