COMPETITION

Kapish Kumar Jain (Roll No 13647) a student of the department of Computer Science Engineering participated in a two-day National Innovation Project Competition held at SIES College, Mumbai. The competition was jointly organized by Computer Society of India and SIES College from 8th to 9th March 2013. The main objective of this project competition was to promote innovative ventures undertaken by students in the field of engineering. It aimed to provide them with a platform to showcase their ideas to a larger part of the society including industry professionals.

Mr. Kapish Kumar Jain presented a project entitled “Laptop Security” prepared under the guidance of Mr. Vishal Bharti, Associate Professor, of CSE Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. ” His project aimed at protecting the laptops from theft by sending multimedia message to the owner’s smart phone. This project uses the Face recognition Technology along with GPS.

The competition was honored by Chief Guest, Mr. Tapas Kumar Biswas and Mr. K. G. Chari as Guest of Honor. Researchers from IIT Bombay, BARC and CEO of Multimedia Technologies, etc judged the competition. A number of participants from cities like Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai, Noida etc. along with other regions across the country. Various projects like Android-arm based home control using smart phone, Ray optics tutor system, Laptop security, augmented reality, etc were the main highlights of the competition.
