CSI-2013

2nd National Student Project Contest-2013 (Regional Round) of Computer Society of India was held at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 2nd March 2013. It was organised by the CSI- Student Chapter of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. A number of students from various colleges having CSI-Student Chapter across the Northern Region of India demonstrated their projects.

To evaluate technical specification of the projects demonstrated, a team of judges comprising Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Lobiyal from JNU New Delhi; Prof. ( Dr.) S. K. Muttoo from Delhi University, Delhi and Prof. ( Dr.) Jitender Kumar from DCE, Gurgaon was deputed. More than 20 projects were demonstrated by the students from different colleges and Universities like Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon; MIET, Jammu; GLA University , Mathura; Dronacharya College of Engineering, Greater Noida; Amity University, NOIDA; Bhartiya Vidyapeeth, New Delhi etc.

On the recommendation of the judges, the Chief-guest Mr. Vivek Varshney, Chairman, CSI, Gurgaon Chapter gave away the prizes to the qualitative projects. The first prize was given to Mr. Surya Mani Sharma from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon for his project “Multifunctional Robotic System”. The second prize was given to project “Wear Your World” to Ms. Monica Bansal and Mr. Deepak Kumar from Dronacharya College. The third prize was given to Mr. Shashank Sharma and Mr. Paras from Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Computer Applications and Management, New Delhi for their project “Android Application”.

The First Consolation prize was given to Mr. Kapish Jain & Mr. Maninder Singh Rana from Dronacharya for the project “Laptop & Home Security” and the second Consolation prize was given away to Mr. Parmanand Chaturvedi & Mr. Karan Vir Singh students of GLA University, Mathura for the project “Automatic Controller (APC)”.

Encouraging the students the Chief-guest Mr. Vivek Varshney, Chairman, CSI, Gurgaon Chapter said that a project is made for a specific objective, which involves a series of activities and tasks which consume resources. Appreciating the efforts of the organizing committee of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon he said that project competitions lead directly to the fabrication and demonstration of projects in a variety.

On the closing ceremony, Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad presented mementoes as token of reverence to all dignitaries of Computer Society of India and thanked them for sparing their precious time for the contest.
