SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAM at MANIT, BHOPAL
 

A two-day Short Term Training Program (STTP) on “Mapping Employability Challenges in Technical Institutions” was organized by Interdisciplinary Faculty Group of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal from 9th to 10th May 2013. The program was sponsored by M.P. State Tourism Development Corporation, Bhopal. The objective of this program was to provide a common platform to discuss the challenges related to employability.

 

Mr. Bhanu Pratap Saini, Associate Professor from the Department of Information Technology represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in this STTP.

 

Inaugurating the training program Prof. V. K. Agarwal, Director of National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research, Bhopal expressed that besides acquiring the syllabus-based knowledge the students must get training of various technical skills, etiquettes to be employable.

 

Ms. Eesha Pathak, Manager BOSCH Bhopal delivered a talk on “Employability of Engineers: An Industry & Management Perspective”. She shared the significance of communication skills, leadership and industrial training in the direction of employability. Dr. Amit Banerji, Head, Department of Management Study, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal enlightened the audience on “The Challenges of 3 Plus 1”. He imparted the scope of Education, Employment, Employability and Entrepreneurship in today’s professional world.

 

Dr. Appu Kuttan, Director, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal talked about “Employability Issues in Technical Institutions”. He stressed to follow practical-oriented teaching-leaning approaches. He also told that India has potential to grow but require good teachers, motivators, trainers and researchers for qualitative improvement in academia as well as industry. Mr. Pratap Verma, Formerly Industrial Advisor, MPSIDC & Secretary, FMPCCI gave inputs on “Employability: The Industry Expectations”. He mentioned the ways to bridge the gap between industry and academia in the present scenario. Dr. Anuradha Shankar, I.G., Government of M.P. Bhopal delivered a didactic lecture “Gandhian Philosophy & Employability in Indian Context” and shared the areas of improvement in the present education system of India.

 

Dr. Zafar Mehndi Group Director of All Saint’s College of Technology Gandhi Nagar Bhopal, on behalf of Dr. Pukhraj Maroo, Additional Chief Secretary (Retd), Government of M.P., Bhopal summed up the useful concepts to enhance communication skills, team-work, leadership interaction etc.

 

Prof. Ajay Pandey, Coordinator of the Short Term Training Program delivered a vote of thanks to all participants, members of the organizing committee members for making the program successful.
