Participation in Microsoft Tech Ed India – 2013 and Microsoft
Innovation Summit
 

The International Level events Microsoft Tech Ed India – 2013 and Microsoft Innovation Summit were organized on 18th March 2013 by Microsoft at Hotel Ashok Lalit, Bangaluru. Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar, Head, Deptt of CSE & IT represented Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. The purpose of this event was to make the audience aware about the applications of Microsoft tools & technologies and make them understand how to use them for commercial utilization. It was an international forum to share the ideas on window Azure, designing world class applications, SQL server, Windows server 2012, Share point 2013 and Windows 8.

During Microsoft Tech Ed India - 2013 more than 2000 professionals from various colleges and industry were present. Whereas more than 80 esteemed delegates from renowned colleges across the country attended the Microsoft Innovation Summit and shared the best practices of various MICs to make the students more innovative, presentable and self employable.

The vibrant presence of Mr. Cliff Reeves (GM – SBT, Microsoft International), Mr. Joseph Landes (GM – DPE, Microsoft India), Mr. Sharad Sharma (Industrialist) and Mr. Shekhar Kirani (Leading Entrepreneur), Mr. Scott Woodgate, Sr. Director, Windows Azure, Microsoft, Mr. Phani Kondepudi ( Director- Academic Program, Microsoft) made the event more useful as they shared their knowledge on different application - oriented aspects of Microsoft. They also emphasized for the colleges to encourage the students for participating in various competitions like Microsoft imagine Cup, Microsoft Bizz Spark Yatra, IBM TGMC program, Intel Developer contest etc. as these contest will help students in discovering various thing by themselves.

Dr. Rathinavelu from Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering, Coimbatore and Dr. Kalaimagal from BVRIT, Hyderabad shared the ways and means of organizing innovation community at colleges. They emphasized that the future of software industry is not in service sector, it is in the products and entrepreneurs therefore students should be molded in the same direction.

The summit was very educational and informative. By adopting the suggestions given by various experts, the participants may chalk out the plans for making their students more employable.
