ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON COMSOL 4.4

Three staff members Ms. Amninder Kaur, Ms. Jyoti Yadav and Ms. Monika Dagar from Electronics and Communication Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a one-day workshop on ‘COMSOL 4.4’ organized by ‘COMSOL India Ltd’. at Hotel Hans 15 Barakhamba Road, New Delhi on 31st January 2014.

The objective of this workshop was to provide a researcher an introduction to the workflow and key features of COMSOL Multiphysics via a combination of hands-on examples, lectures and guided tutorials.

The experts Mr. Lakhvinder Singh, Branch Manager; Ms. Prjakta, Application Engineer; Mr. Shantanu, Technical Sales Engineer of COMSOL India Ltd.’ made the attendees aware how to efficiently use the graphical user interface to model physics phenomena in a wide variety of application areas, Automatic Mesh Construction and how to launch of new features e.g coupling of different models in a single model.

Ms. Prjakta gave hands-on experience by delivering a demo on ‘Constant- Voltage Anemometer’. She also gave a demo to experience the speed and ease of the work flow, shown through a multi-physics simulation example. Mr. Shantanu gave a live demo on ‘Heat Transfer Capabilities in COMSOL’ by giving one example on heat transfer in a rod.

The workshop was useful as the attendees learnt and practiced how to set up and solve their first simulation through a hands-on exercise.
