One day workshop cum hackathon on MATLAB was conducted by Google Developer Group-Dronacharya College of Engineering at the campus on April 28th, 2014. The event was graced by Hon’ble Principal Prof. Dr. Mir Nasser Hussain and Head of Departments of respective branches. Around 40 students from various streams participated.

The workshop started with initial motivating lines by Prof. Swati Jha, Mentor of GDG-DCE. The session was then taken forward by Anshul Patro, Organizer of GDG-DCE making students aware about Google Developer Group. After the briefing about GDG, the workshop was taken ahead by Mrs. Amninder Kaur, Assistant Prof. ECE, who gave basic knowledge about Digital Signal Processing and MATLAB software.

The Pre-lunch session was taken forward by VI semester students Aman Sharma, Siddhant Mehta, Ravi Ahuja and Umesh Yadav. Aman gave the knowledge about different mathematical commands used in MATLAB. Siddhant told about different functions of MATLAB like Convolution and Correlation and Ravi explained the participants about Filters. At the end of the session Umesh summarized the pre-lunch session through his presentation.

Post–lunch session comprised of Control System which was handled by VI semester students Vijay Arora, Siddharth Uniyal and Anuj Yadav. Vijay gave brief knowledge about the usage of MATLAB in Control System. Siddharth explained about different inbuilt functions of control system toolbox in MATLAB and Anuj handled the programming aspect.

Mr. K. K. Singh helped in comprehending research activities by explaining participants one of his research papers and elaborating his results using MATLAB.

At the end of the session Hackathon on MATLAB was conducted for the participants.
