PEOs and POs

Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of B.Tech Civil Engineering

Engineers will practice the profession of engineering using a systems perspective and analyze, design, develop, optimize & implement engineering solutions and work productively as engineers, including supportive and leadership roles on multidisciplinary teams.

Continue their education in leading graduate programs in engineering & interdisciplinary areas to emerge as researchers, experts, educators & entrepreneurs and recognize the need for, and an ability to engage in continuing professional development and life-long learning

Engineers, guided by the principles of sustainable development and global interconnectedness, will understand how engineering projects affect society and the environment.

Promote Design, Research, and implementation of products and services in the field of Engineering through Strong Communication and Entrepreneurial Skills.

Re-learn and innovate in ever-changing global economic and technological environments of the 21st century.

  Program Outcome (PO)

The successful graduate will develop ability to:

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science & Engineering in Civil Engineering problems.

Identify, formulate, and solve problems in at least four major civil engineering areas.

Understand professional and ethical responsibilities of civil engineers.

Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools in use in the civil engineering profession

Demonstrate as a member of a team to lead, interact, communicate in a professional manner with other members on the team and contribute discipline-specific input to a multi-disciplinary team.

Use effective communication techniques in the completion of engineering projects.

Design a civil engineering system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.

Explain key concepts and problem-solving processes used in business, public policy, and public admission.

Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data in more than one civil engineering area.

Demonstrate the function as a coherent unit in multidisciplinary design teams, and deliver results through collaborative research.

Graduates have recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in, life-long learning and working towards professional licensing.
