Young Entrepreneur Panel Engineering Project Competition 5

18th April & 2nd May 2015

Faridabad Industry Association (FIA) organized an engineering projects competition named "The Young Entrepreneurs Panel". The shortlisted projects were judged by industry experts and the best projects were awarded. The presentation for shortlisted projects took place on 18th April 2015. Six projects were shortlisted from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon.

3. Intelligent (Real Time) Traffic Routing by Manish Vats, Vivek Kaushik and Anmol Goyal

ME

1. Hydrogen Hybrid Vehicle System by Rishahb Saxena and Smriddhi Khanna

The result of shortlisted projects were declared on 2nd May 2015. Two projects from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon won the FIRST Prize at the competition.

A brief on the award winning projects are given below:

Intelligent [Real time] Traffic Routing by Anmol Goyal, Manish Vats, Vivek Kaushik from ECE Department: The concept implemented in this project involved use of sensor network technology to sense presence of traffic near any circle or junction and then it is able to route the traffic based on traffic availability or we can say density in desired direction. A microcontroller based routing algorithm programmed for excellent traffic management has been successfully implemented. Integration of three special applications such as, ambulance and other emergency vehicle path clearance, variable power intensity for street lights according to environmental conditions and automatic message transmission and location identification to Control room in case of accidents, vehicle break down or illegal parking has also been implemented in the model.

Hydrogen Hybird Vehicle System by Rishahb Saxena & Smriddhi Khanna from Mechanical Engineering Department: Hydrogen Hybird Vehicle System are prototypes to essentially convert vehicle to use water as a source of supplemental or even (theoretically) primary fuel. The engine derives fuel from hydrogen and oxygen, generated by the electrolysis of water. The only by-product resulting from the hydrogen and oxygen components of combustion within the engine is water vapour. So the emissions are usually cleaner, emitting fewer polluting particles. In short, the HYBRID HYDROGEN VEHICLE SYSTEM is a “cleaner” system; one that derives supplemental fuel from – Water. It has even the unique advantage of being able to remove pollutants from the air during combustion, and even reduces the carbon residue within the engine.
