NSS DISTRICT LEVEL MEET

A meeting with all NSS (National Service Scheme) Programme officers was convened by Dr. Charanjeet Kaur, State Liaison Officer (Haryana) at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 08 February, 2012. The objective of this meeting was to discuss how to arouse social conscience of the volunteers and to provide them maximum opportunity to work with common people in the villages and slums. It was also discussed how to develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disaster. Addressing the district-level meeting of around seventy NSS Programme Officers from various colleges & schools of Farrukhnagar, Sidharawali, Sohna, Chakarpur, Panchagaon, Dhankot etc the convener Dr. Charanjeet Kaur emphasised that a NSS Programme Officer is a friend, philosopher and guide to the volunteers in motivating them for the service of society. She reiterated that a Programme Officer is the fittest person to provide necessary lead to the students in developing their personality through community service. She also assured to resolve the problems of the Programme Officers in order to organise camps and other related services.

Expressing his deepest gratitude to the convenor and other NSS Programme Officers, Hon’ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad shared that NSS Unit at Dronacharya College of Engineering is already involved in encouraging youth to participate enthusiastically in the process of national development and to promote national integration through corporate living and cooperative action. He told that the past experience of National Service Scheme Unit at DCE has been quite heartening. No doubt, it provided diversified opportunities to volunteers to develop their personality through community service.
