Department of ECE of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an Industrial visit on 12th Aug 14, to one of the top Milk Processing organizations Yakult Danone India (P) Ltd, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Rai, Sonepat, Haryana for ECE-III Semester-I & II students. 46 students attended the industrial visit

Yakult Danone India (P) Ltd. is a 50:50 JV between Yakult Honsha, Japan and Group Danone of France. Yakult was launched in India in 2007, and has its offices at Sonepat, NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore respectively. Yakult is manufactured in India at a state-of-the-art facility at Rai, Sonepat (Haryana). Yakult is a fermented milk drink which contains more than 6.5 billion beneficial bacteria-Lactobaciliuscasei. This drink was first introduced in Japan in 1935 and later launched in the overseas markets. Yakult is a scientifically proven probiotic drink with more than 75 years of research to back its efficiency. Probiotic are effective in maintaining good health by suppressing the growth of bad bacteria and restoring the balance of the gut flora. Yakult follows the most hygienic and advanced manufacturing process, making sure that only the best quality products are produced, day after day. This plant, in HSIIDC-Sonepat, has received ISO 9001:2008, HACCP and OHSAS accreditation for manufacturing safe and quality products for its consumers.

The objectives of the visit were to facilitate the students to gain first-hand information regarding functioning of the company and to draw parallel attention between theoretical knowledge with real time practice of the company. This visit also provided an opportunity to the students to interact with the corporate executives who shared their experiences enabling the students to have the real sense of the current industrial scenario.

Mr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor and Mrs. Ritu Sharma, Assistant Professor, ECE briefed the students about the objectives of the industrial visit. Students were accompanied by Mr. Yogesh & Mr. Jagdish, to the Seminar Room where they were shown a brief presentation about the Company profile, distribution channel, and production process and how Yakult is producing such a complex processed product.

The students were also informed about the various stages of production like mixing, sterilization, fermentation, blending, injection molding, filling/sealing, packaging, storage etc.

These stages were explained by the production executive in detail. The visit was quite informative and useful for our students and they experienced the environment of the industry, code of conduct and actual exposure.
