The Delhi Quiz Circuit and The Manthan Quizzing Society of Hindu Collegewhich comes under the University of Delhi, arose together to organize a state level Open India quiz competition ‘Maatribhoomi’ on 9th January, 2017 at the college campus. Two students of IV Semester Abhilash Banerjee (ECE) and Pranav Sharma (CSE)) of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the event as a team.

The quiz was held at the Hindu College. It comprised of two rounds, the preliminary round and the final round. Various students from different colleges of Delhi and NCR participated in this quiz.

In the first round the quiz comprised of 30 questions. The final round was based on audio and visual questions from varied fields. The questions were generally based upon Indian history, mythology, sports, current affairs and many other topics related to India. The basic idea behind the quiz was to judge the knowledge of students about their country based on all aspects and to trigger their minds to think at a high pace.

The event was sponsored by Indian Railways, Reliance and the alumni of Delhi University. The distinguished quizmasters for the day were Mr. Jayant Verma and Mr. Prithvi Raj. They hosted the quiz with great energy and provided participants with amazing facts about the nation.

It was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their general knowledge and aptitude regarding the nation. It was a great experience for the students. It arose a sense of responsibility and feeling of patriotism in the students towards the country.
