MICROSOFT IT CAMP ON IMPLEMENTING A MOBILE-FIRST ENTERPRISE

DEVICE STRATEGY

 

Ms. Poonam Yadav, Assistant Professor of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department and Ms. Sarita, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department, along with three students (Kinshuk – 15714, Mayank – 15717 and Neelima Saini – 15723) from Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended an Event IT Camp - Implementing a mobile-first enterprise device strategy organized by Microsoft at Radisson Blu - Dwarka Sec-13, New Delhi on 12th February 2015.

The event was organized by Microsoft to get a deep dive into key enterprise scenarios like identity, information and app protection. It was focused on mobile device management and drill into app management features. The Speaker for the sessions was Mrs. Prachita Budhwar, Technical Executive-Microsoft. The speaker gave a brief description about the Enterprise Mobility with windows and the various methods why to use this directory in the inaugural session. She also defined ADFS and MFA setups and the ways in which we can make our account secure.

In Second Session, She further imparted the ways to use creative cloud on underlying identity management system for the authentication. During the third session, she explained the end-user applications (such as the Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and services (such as Exchange and SharePoint) can use Azure Rights Management to help protect the organization’s data. In fourth session the participants availed the opportunity to have hands-on lab for integrating on-premises AD DS with Azure AD.

During the fifth session, the speaker deliberated his views to implement MFA for user account in Azure AD. MFA authentication provides strong authentication that helps to protect user credentials, apps and other resources. The subject expert also explained how to configure Azure AD to support MFA by using text messages to your mobile phone.

In the last session, she deliberated how to integrate SaaS apps with Azure AD.

The event was based on the developments using Azure which includes how to identify information and app protection on cloud. It also focussed on mobile device management and tools them into app management features. The event was useful to understand and recognize various upcoming trends in IT Technology like Working with Azureand use of Azure Active Directory Connect and how to implement them in Cloud.
