On September 17th, 2014 two faculty members Mr. Tarun Verma & Mr. Rapaka Gopalakrishna from Electronics & Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a one-day PHD (Progress Harmony Development) Innovation Summit 2014 on Enhancing Innovative Capacities of MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise). It was organized by PHD Chamber, New Delhi in Association with MOFPI (Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India).

The Chief-guest Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Union Minister for MSME enlightened the audience regarding effort of the Government of India in establishing MSME. He stressed on need that we should be self independent in term of technology, industry, production & services.

Mr. Sharad Jaipuria (the President PHD Chamber); Mr. S.K Sarkar (Chairman Committee on Innovation, PHD Chamber); Mr. Surinder Nath Tripathi (Joint Secretary, SME, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise, Govt. of India); Mr. Krishan Partap Singh (IRS, Additional Director General, Directorate General of Export Promotion), Mr. Ajay Thakur (Head BSE SME); Mr. Pardeep Sharma (Chief Manager, Consultancy Services Cell, SBI); Ms. Usman Rana (Head, Northern Region NSE); Mr. A.K Jha (IES, Director General, NISBUD, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India), Dr. J.S Juneja (Chairman, Global Projects & Services Pvt. Ltd) shared their views on innovative strategies, enterprise and need of skill development .

This summit was helpful as the participant learnt how to start MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise).
