Paper Presentation at 6thInternational Conference in Science, Engineering and Management (ICRISEM - 16)

20th August 2016

Three students, Neha Yadav (16770), Sonia Rana (16774) and Bhuvesh Yadav (16778) from Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented a paper in the 6th International Conference on Science, Engineering and Management (ICRISEM - 16) organized at IIMT College of Engineering, Noida on 20th August 2016. The title of the paper was “Comparison of IIR and FIR Filter And Their Types” based on the Summer internship project completed during the Summer School on “Digital Signal Processing using MATLAB” under the guidance of Ms. Parul Bansal (Assistant Professor, ECS).

The objective of the conference was to bring together budding researchers from science and management studies and provide a platform for budding researchers to present their work. The conference emphasized on harnessing eco - friendly technologies and proper utilization of technology in order to achieve universal goal of sustainable development. The conference covered all branches of Engineering, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environment, Mathematics, etc.) & Management. Scholars and academicians from different fields such as Electrical, Mechanical and Management attended the conference and presented their papers on latest technologies.

Students of DCE in their paper, presented that filter plays a very important role of extracting meaningful knowledge from the signal and hence before planning, it's vital to understand the sort of response required. The operation of filters is to eliminate the chosen band of signal corresponding to noise or to extract meaningful knowledge from the signal.A filter may be a device that is meant to pass frequencies inside a particular band whereas rejecting all different unwanted frequencies that fall outside this band. The paper describes the comparison between Infinite impulse Response (IIR) and Finite Impulse Response (FIR).This paper conjointly describes the comparison between Butterworth methodology of IIR Filter and Window methodology of FIR Filter for low pass, high pass band pass and band reject, we've used few parameters corresponding to magnitude response, section response, zero - pole response, cluster delay & section delay.

In the end participating certificates were given to all the participants .The conference was a good learning experience for the students and all the presentations were well appreciated by the jury.
