IEEE Lecture on Development of Microelectronics in India

at IIT Delhi

 

On 20th February 2015, Ms. Chandra Mukherjee Assistant Professor from Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended IEEE Lecture on History of development of Microelectronics in India at IIT Delhi organized by Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Delhi in association with IEEE CAS-CS Delhi section.

The Chief Guest and the Key Speaker for the event was Prof. Dipankar Nagchoudhuri, Professor ,DA-IICT. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Anuj Dhawan Chair, IEEE CAS-CS, Delhi Chapter, Assistant Professor Department of Electrical Engineering IIT, New Delhi. The other distinguished speakers were Dr. R.K.Patney, Dr. (Mrs.) Devi Chadha and Dr. G.S.Visweswaran, from Electrical Dept. IIT, New Delhi.

Prof. Dipankar Nagchoudhuri delivered the lecture on the topic: History of development of Microelectronics in India. During his lecture he highlighted the theory as well as practical aspects of Microelectronic Technology.He further discussed the Contribution of India in Microelectronics.

The other speakers enlightened about the current issues and needs for implementation of Microelectronics in India and further discussed about current research work in the field of Analog Mixed Signal Circuit Design in institutes like (i) Centre for Analog Mixed Signal Integrated Circuit Design at IIT Madras (ii) Centre for Analog Mixed Signal Integrated Circuits at IISc Bangalore (iii) Design of Mixed Signal Circuits for Instrumentation Applications at CEERI, Pilani (iv)Analog Mixed Signal and RF IC development and Test for Biomedical Applications at IIT Bombay, Ozone Layer Depletion, Global Warming and Green House Effect etc.

The lecture was attended by many scholars from different organizations. It very beneficial to all the participants and they gained additional knowledge of this subject and also succeeded in enhancing their teaching skills. The lecture also provided a common platform for all academicians to interact and share their ideas to enhance their technical knowledge in the field of Microelectronics and VLSI.
