Constituting about 34 percent of the total population, the youth of India is the most vital resource of the nation. The responsibility of change, progress and innovation lies on their shoulders. Not only they are instrumental in the freedom struggle of the past, but they are also the ones on whom the present and future of our country depends. With this thought in mind and with a vision to provide the youth with an opportunity to add valuable leadership fundamentals and learning to their existing skill-sets and nurture their potential, Young Leaders Summit (YLS) was organized by IIM-Bangalore from 26th to 28th September 2014. The event was attended by Mr. Sahil Jindal of Computer Science Engineering Department, Mr. Divyanshu Chabra and Mr. Ankit Wadhwa of Information and Technology Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon.

Being launched for the first time in Vista's history, Young Leader Summit(YLS) provided the students from all over the country a unique opportunity to take part in a structured 3-day program designed to provide learning, expertise and a holistic experience. In all there were 300 student participants from all over India.

Prof. Charan Singh, renowned politician performed the opening ceremony of YLS. Prof. Pranav Garg, faculty of IIMB, took the first session of YLS. In Corporate Conclave , four main speakers namely Mr. Shailesh Kekre, Partner with Mckinsey & Co. in India; Mr. Sanjay Anand, Founder Microsoft India Development Centre, Bangalore; Mr. Jairam Sridharan, President Consumer Lending & Payment Axis Bank, Mr. Ajay Chawla, VP & Chief Strategy Officer at Titan, discussed their views. During these sessions, the speakers elaborated upon the status of employment of freshers.

The next day’s session focussed solely on communication skills. Speakers discussed about the way in which the entrepreneurs should communicate with others. The speakers in the box for the third day were Mr. Ronnie Screwala, founder and CEO of UTV Group, UTV Software Communications, Bloomberg UTV, and UTV Motion Pictures; Dr. Subramanian Swamy, politician and economist.

Prof. Mukta Kulkarni who is associated with IIMB since 2006 in the area of took the last day’s session. She acquainted the students in connection with what should be the behaviour of organisation in this era of competition. As a whole, the event was very prolific and the participants really benefited from the event.
