Role of Teacher in Nation Building

 
 
 

On 9th March 2014, Mrs. Kshitija Pol (Associate Professor, CSE Dept.), Ms. Pratibha Sharma (Asst. Professor, CSE Dept.), Ms. Sarita (Asst. Professor, CSE Dept.) attended Seminar on “Role of Teacher in Nation Building” held at GIA House, MG Road, Gurgaon.

 

“Teacher is a maker of man. He is foundation of all Education, and thus of the whole civilization of mankind, present and future. No nation reconstruction is possible without the active cooperation of the teacher.” - John Adams.

 

A nation is built by its citizens, citizens are molded by teachers and teachers are made by teacher-educators. Chanakya has rightly stated, “Teacher is the maker of nation” So for the development of the country, it is very important to have good teachers and good teachers can be produced only if we have a good system of teacher education and dedicated and efficient teacher-educators.

 

“Role of Teacher in Nation Building” the introduction was given by Shri Trilok Chand Sharma, Founder & President Bharat Sanjivni, NGO President Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Haryana Eminent Social Activist.

 

After the welcome session, keynote speaker, Dr. Markandey Ahuja, Vice Chancellor, Baba Masthnath University, Rohtak on “Role of Teacher in Nation Building”. During his presentation, he focused on key points like present scenario of Educational Institutions in India, Challenges before Teacher, current IQ among students etc. The next presentation was given by Dr. Ashok Divakar, Principal (Retd.) Govt, Degree College, Gurgaon on “Indian Culture and its Co-ordination with Modernization”. The next presentation was given by Dr. RajendraVidyalankar, Professor Institute of Indological Studies, Kurukshetra University, Haryana on “Evolution of Education in Indian Perspective”. The last presentation of the seminar was given by Dr. Tirath Das Dogra, Former Director, AIIMS, New Delhi on “Ethics and Moral Values”.

 

The event ended with the valedictory session conducted by Dr. SarvadanandArya, President Society for Education and Environmental Training.
