Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya Engineering College, Gurgaon organized an industrial visit to Networkers Guru Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Gurgaon on 11th October, 2014 for 2nd & 3rd year B.Tech Students. Forty students from the department went for this educational cum industrial trip. The visit gave the students a feel of the how networking is carried out in the field of IT industry. Mr. Tanupriya Choudhury, Assistant Professor, CSE coordinated the visit.

This industrial visit familiarized the students with various networking concepts like LAN interconnecting devices: Hubs, Switches, Bridges, Routers, Gateways, and Industrial Networking concepts. Network Guru Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has CCIE Training Labs and it offers Associate, Professional and Expert Level trainings in Routing Switching, Security and Voice track Certifications offered by Cisco Systems. The students were briefed about the industry operations and functioning. They attended a one and a half hour session on networking and network security. Each student was individually attended to in the lab and informed about how the layers are processed in the networks through hands on exercises and real time problems.

The visit gave students a chance to be aware of the opportunities in network industry and the working of these industries. It also motivated the students to keep updated about the new technologies which will help them in preparing for the placements into top networking companies.
