MIC, Shaanxi hosted Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) Global Summit - 2016 organized by Microsoft (China) Pvt. Ltd at Xian Sheraton, Xi’an, Shaanxi, People ’s Republic of China from 30th October 2016 to 4th November 2016. Rahul Satyaprakash Rana, student of CSE Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the Summit. The MIC Global Summit was attended by MIC Director/Managers from around the world. The MIC Summit included the “The Belt and Road International Collaborative Innovation Incubation Development Forum” which was attended people around the globe and from the Chinese Government and UNESCO. |

Welcome and Opening Remarks
The MIC Global Summit was started by Mr. Ed Steidl, Global Program Manager, MICs with an introduction to the 4.0 Industrial Revolution and how the industry over the world are changing through the Cloud Computing and Big Data Analytics and taking the world through Industrial Revolution 4.0. |

Industrial Revolution 4.0 & Impacts on Society
Dr. Simon Wilkie, Chief Economic Policy Strategist gave an insight on how Microsoft Corporation is helping and supporting the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and how this would impact the society and employment in the near future by studying the recent trends and how the ICT industry is changing the scenario of employment. |

Introduction to Chinese Market and Microsoft China
Mr. Srikanth Raju, General Manager, Developer Experience & Evangelism, Greater China, gave information on how Microsoft is tackling with the resources needed for the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the policies that are adopted so that the company can be a driving force for this revolution for the Cloud Services and Data Analytics. |

Introduction to One Belt One Road Strategy
Mr. Jin Jun, Director, MIC Shaanxi, China gave information how the government of People’s Republic of China is coming up with new programs to boost the industrial Revolution in China. Such a program that was introduced was “One Belt One Road” Strategy. |

Workshop on Invention Cycle
Ms. Natasha Chornesky, Program Manager, Microsoft Research Outreach, gave a workshop on “Invention Cycle”. She gave an insight how innovation is different from creativity, how to create new idea for a successful business and how to work in team to maximize the output from the existing team. |

The Belt and Road Innovation forum
The Belt and Road International Collaborative Innovation Incubation Development Forum, was attended by delegates from Chinese Central and Provincial Government Members, UNESCO and MIC’s from around the world. The forum discussed how innovation and incubation of new ICT start - ups can help to boost the economies around the Old Silk Route stretched from China to countries in the continent of Europe. The panellist also discussed how the education system can be changed to make the students of professional courses market ready right from their graduation from the Universities.

Lean Start - up Machine Workshop
The Day 2 of MIC Global Summit consisted of the Lean Start-up Machine Workshop. The workshop consisted of how to make teams for new start-ups and how come out with plans and idea for new start-ups that have high success rate rather than just coming out of ideas that have very high failure rate (98%). |

The workshop also had two “Get Out of Building” activity for customer interviews which were carried out at Muslim Street Market, Near Drum Tower, Xian, Shaanxi, PRC. |

MSFT Accelerator Workshop
The MSFT Accelerator workshop was delivered by Mr. Alec Saunders, Senior Director, Microsoft Accelerator and Didem Un Ates, Partnerships Director, Microsoft Ventures. The workshop focused on how level-2 start-up can ensure the scaling of their organization and how to select the team members and how to obtain funding and how much funding should be obtained from the investors. |

Visit to MIC Shaanxi
The visit to MIC Shaanxi is hosted by Provincial Government of Shaanxi and was consisted of a short video presentation about the achievement and upcoming projects and how the MIC Shaanxi is helping the economy of People’s Republic of China to grow and prosper in the ICT Industry.

Trip to Terra Cotta Warriors, Xian, Shaanxi, PRC
The Trip to Terra Cotta Warriors was organized by MIC Shaanxi. The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210 - 209 BCE and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. |

The summit was very informative and highlighted the importance of technology at every level of education. It was a good experience for the participants to be a part of the summit. |
