A Session on Technology Enabled Innovations in Teaching and Learning

 
 
 

Ms. Pratibha Sharma, Ms. Sarita (Asst. Professors, CSE Department) and Mr. Yashvardhan Soni (Associate Professor, IT Dept.) from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended India-US Technology Summit at India expo Centre, Greater Noida, on 19th November, 2014.

 

In the present times, technology is the only answer in the area of capacity building such as up gradation of teaching resources, providing supplementary support for better absorption of lessons, creating networks for sharing of knowledge and eliminating boundaries and distances in access to quality resources, tools and services which aid and abet learning. This session discussed how collaboration among Universities, Industry and Government can lead to excellence and innovation in higher education.

 

The session was inaugurated by Dr. C. R. Swaminathan (Co-Chairman, CII National Committee on Higher Education) & Mr. Pratik Mehta (Director Education, Microsoft India). During the event Ms. Anita Sharma (Advisor, Ministry of Human Resource Development) discussed about innovation in Teaching.

 

In the end there was a hands-on session by Dr. Jonathan Cohen (Assistant Professor, Learning Technologies Division, Georgia State University’s College of Education) & Dr. Robin Angotti (Associate Professor of Mathematics, University of Washington).
