Forty students from III & V semester of Computer Science & Engineering Department along with faculty coordinator Mr. Hansraj Yadav, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in an industrial visit to Centre For e-Governance, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) on 29th August 2014 at Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

The objective of this visit was to introduce awareness on cyber security and Ethics. The students came to know about the advancement in ICT domain especially in e-Governance. It is a part of DeitY mandate and is relevant to other ICT domain including electronics, Indian Language Solutions, emerging technologies in ICT domains and solutions for different centers. The students were demonstrated applications from States, Central line ministries, DeitY organizations and other implementing agencies.

Mr. Sunil Kumar, Technical Officer, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) addressed to the students and discussed about "The NeGP Vision". He said that NeGP Vision is to Make all Public Services accessible to the common man at an affordable cost ensuring efficiency, transparency.

He discussed about the CSC (common services center) infrastructure, Mobile Service Delivery Gateway, e-Pramaan, National Policy on Information Technology and an Open Source Operating System named BOSS (Bharat operating system solution), an open source operating system based on Linux kernel developed by C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) available in 22 Indian official languages.

The visit was fruitful and as the students gained knowledge about Government initiatives related to Cyber Security and Ethics.
