Aiming to create awareness among the corporate sector about the availability of a vast multitude of experienced veterans of the Services who possess attributes and skills of a highly refined quality, for placement in the Industry, DGR National Corporate Conclave 2014 was held on 19th August 2014, at Manekshaw Centre, Khyber Lines, New Delhi.  Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor along with two students Jobin Abraham (14038) and Jorawar Singh (14039) of Computer Science Engineering Department represented Dronacharya in the conclave.

This Corporate Conclave was organized by Directorate General Resettlement, Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare and Ministry of Defense. Hon’ble Defence Minister was the Chief Guest of the event. More than 300 CEOs, Vice-Presidents and Sr. level Human Resource Executives from different PSUs, both private and public enterprises participated in the Conclave. A large number of Senior Armed Forces officers, Secretaries from various departments of the Government of India and other Senior Government officials attended the Conclave.

The objective of Conclave-2014 was to present the competencies of Ex-Servicemen which belong to an untapped human resource pool. Further, the Conclave expects to change the perception regarding retired armed forces personnel being suitable only for security duties to a major tool for nation building and corporate growth in every sphere.

The Defense Services have always been a source of highly trained and educated manpower for the Industry. Today, many major corporate have absorbed huge numbers of defense personnel after their retirement. Opening up of defense production to the private sector by the Government of India has further added demand for the retired service personnel. Having deep knowledge on various defense equipment and technologies and related procurement procedures, these service personnel are a valuable resource for any company, which is looking for an opening in the Defense Sector.
