TECHNOBLAST@ DGI, Noida

8th to 9th April, 2016

 

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Noida organized a Project Exhibition cum Competition “Technoblast” from 8th April to 9th April, 2016. A total of six teams from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the competition with their profile projects.

 

The aim of ‘Technoblast’ was to embolden student creativity and innovation. The competition encouraged the students to get involved not only in a profession that is crucial to ensuring a better understanding of their subject but also to inspire them to expand their knowledge base into different streams. Students from various colleges participated in the competition and displayed their projects in the exhibition. The projects were evaluated by a team of professionals.

 

At ‘Technoblast’ students exhibited their project at the college campus where it was reviewed by respectable authorities of the college, faculty members, and students. The projects were judged the next day by the honorable judging panel, including Dr. R. N. Sharma, Former Director NIIT Srinagar, Dr. Gopal Sinha, Former Director, CSIR, Dr. K. Tamil Mannan – Associate Prof., School of Engineering & Technology, IGNOU, Mr. Ramesh Gupta, Asst. Prof., Shiv Nadar University, Mr. Manoj Kumar, Associate Prof., Delhi Technological University, Mr. Ashish Kumar, Technical Analyst, NIIT Technologies, PROF (GP CAPT) HS DUA (Retd), Dr. Ashish Srivastava, HOD, EEE, JSS Academy.

 

The following projects of CSE department participated in the event :

 

SAVER App included a direct option of camera through which if any mishappening is being held in front of a person they can click and upload it directly & also can forward to the nearby police station or main crime branch . The motive of this app was mainly to focus on the security of public and a step towards safer and better India.

 

Electricycle which was about converting mechanical energy (peddling a cycle) to electrical energy for running home appliances. The aim was to make electricity available and affordable to one and all.

 

GPS Controlled Drone which aims at creating a drone (aerial vehicle) which can be controlled by a GPS device.

 

The following projects of ECE department participated in the event :

 

Self sustainable model for rural electrification provides Day and Night Lighting system without using external electrical connection. It provides green energy (Sun and Wind) production with the intelligent distribution grid system of solar and wind energy. The intelligent hybrid distribution system selects the best suitable source of energy for maximum output. The prototype model is designed for enough brightness to light a 15sq. m. room.

 

Smart Helmet in coal mining is a system that would constantly monitor important parameters like temperature, humidity and methane, monitoring brain, heart beat sensor which helps in monitoring the health conditions of person. The system is reasonably cheap, easy to configure and run and extending its applications with RF technology.

 

Shock gun was made keeping safety of women in mind. It is a weapon used for incapacitating a person by administering electric shock aimed at disrupting superficial muscle function and / or causing pain without significantly hurting the subject. In case a burglar intrudes into the house, a person can use this security circuit as a weapon for self - protection by giving an electric shock to the attacker. It also gives a SOS message or gives a call to the number which is saved before hand. Through the call the mobile can be traced in few minutes and the location of the victim can be found out.

 

The following projects of CSIT department participated in the event :

 

Route Narrator for the blind was aimed to provide help for the blind people. It works by examining and the footsteps of the user. The devise provides all the details about the coming hurdle and also calculates the size, shape and speed of the object coming.

 

The projects were judged on the basis of benefits, feasibility, uniqueness, market sustainability and future scope. The projects were desired to be innovative in nature, based on social theme, working prototype, interdisciplinary, qualitative, commercially viable, and original in nature and student driven. Based on the above traits, prizes were awarded to the students. A total of ten participating teams with the best projects were shortlisted for the final round. These were again evaluated and the top ranking teams were rewarded with cash prizes.

 

The Project Exhibition cum Competition provided a competitive platform for students in the field of Software / Hardware development.
