This workshop cum training program was on topic Microsoft Azure and IoT. During the workshop students were explained about the basics of Azure, Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning along with the steps to host the website using Azure.

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform and infrastructure created by Microsoft for building, deploying, and managing applications and services through a global network of Microsoft - managed datacentres. It provides both PaaS and IaaS services and supports many different programming languages, tools and frameworks, including both Microsoft - specific and third - party software and systems.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects - devices, vehicles, buildings and other items - embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity that enables these objects to collect and exchange data. The IoT allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer - based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit.

Machine learning is a subfield of computer science that evolved from the study of pattern recognition and computational learning theory in artificial intelligence. Machine learning as a "Field of study that gives computers the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed".

Various features of Azure like activating an account on Azure, Azure account subscription using unique key and publish a site on Azure using Web Matrix was explained in details followed by lab session . Lab session conducted by Nishant helped students host Website using FTP client server and windows explorer followed.

Mr Jagadish explained students about Raspberry Pie II and running a device remotely.
