MSP and MVP Meet

5th December 2015

 

Microsoft India organized an Interactive session for the Microsoft Student Partners (MSPs) and Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) of Delhi / NCR region at Microsoft Corporation (India) office, Gurgaon on 5th December 2015. Faculty members Ms. Sarita, Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Ms. Jyoti Pruthi, Department of Applied Science & Humanities along with 50 students from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

Mr. Prabhjot Singh Bakshi, Certified Trainer Microsoft Corporation Mr. Aditya Mohan, Marketing Team, Microsoft, Mr. Gandhrav Rawat, Community & Online Supporter at Microsoft and Mr. Biplab Paul, Project Management Professional delivered the sessions.

The first session was headed by Mr. Biplab Paul. He introduced the new MSPs to their duties and responsibilities. HE explained the responsibilities of an MSP. These are as:

1. Get informed about the latest Microsoft technologies. The MSP will acquire the tools and training to lead technology discussions on your campus.

2. Shall demonstrate the latest technologies, host tech events, and connect with like-minded students and faculty.

3. Leading the Microsoft Student Community at campus.

4. Get to work closely with Microsoft and the other MSPs, and build and important network of contacts.

5. Shall get a proof of MSP participation that can be used when you apply for work.

Mr. Paul then expressed heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all the students for their participation in world community day. He then extended a warm welcome to the New MSPs and also asked from old MSPs to share their last one year experience. He told the volunteers to continue their effort toward poor students of various school of their locality and to guide them about their future with computers and the need of knowledge for computers in today’s time.

Mr. Aditya Mohan next talked abourt the Microsoft Imagine Camp. He discussed about the duties of the MSAs. He further explained that a Microsoft Student Associate, shall has to drive student outreach and learning initiatives by hosting activities like workshops, boot camps, ce a catalyst in driving initiatives around social impact involving students from local campuses and contribute in empowering the industry and academia ecosystem by constantly playing a role of an evangelist in the community.

Mr. Bakshi gave students a quick idea on Azure and Internet of Things (IOT). He also discussed about how android wears will overpower smart phones. He said that the network of physical objects or "things" embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data can be termed as Internet of Things (IoT).

Mr. Gandhrav Rawat explained about the support and engagement provided to all Microsoft MVPs, RDs and Technical Communities, Relationship Management and client engagement, creation of marketing and communication material, Immense social media engagement, managing events and other support programs to maintain functionality across Community.

The session was very helpful as students came to know a lot about IOT, MSP and MVP programs and a glimpse to many problems regarding MSP’s. Speakers ended the session by taking doubts again and letting students to use IoT in their day to day life. The whole session was very interactive and knowledgeable.
