GOOGLE INDIA EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM

16TH DECEMBER 2015

 

Google India Education Symposium was organized by Google India Inc. on 16th December 2015 at Hotel Holiday Inn, New Delhi. Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Ruhil, Head, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Prof. Yashvardhan Soni, Department of Information Technology and Mr. Amar Saraswat, Department of Computer Science & Engineering from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the symposium.

The objective of the symposium was to promote and embed creativity in teaching paradigm. The Google India Education Symposium brought professionals, educators and Google For Education team together under one roof to discuss how Google's cutting - edge technology tools can help India reach its education goals.

Dr. Stephan Vincent Lancrin, Project Leader, Organization for Economic Co - operation and Development (OECD) discussed about critical skills utilized for the most innovative jobs, innovation in education in the form of Technology, School Organization, System Organization and Research & Development.

Ms. Marta, Program Managing Internet Devices discussed about Educational Trends. She started her discussion with online corporate learning. She further stated that online corporate learning allows employees in every industry and at any level to experience the power of customized training, 24/7, on any device. Unlike with classroom-based training, learners can train on their own time using customized formats. Everyone can move at their own pace, learning what they need to know and exploring their own interests.

The next topic of discussion was Skills measurement. She discussed about online competency - based training. While competency - based training approaches and online learning are nothing new, the blend of the two is creating a revolutionary approach to education.

The panel discussion showcased high profile speeches and examples of some great works in the field of education were cited.
