Global SME Business Summit-2014

Organized by

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Partnership with Ministry of MSME, Government of India

on 9th October 2014 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi

 
 
 

Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, along with two students Vikrant Dewan (14114) and Rashmi Dewan (14076) from Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering attended the Global SME Business Summit-2014 organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 9th October 2014 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

 

The theme of the summit was "Enabling Global Economic Growth through SME Partnerships." The Summit focused on creating a strong platform for key decision makers, business leaders and multilateral agencies to address issues common to SMEs and identify cross-border partnership opportunities. Concurrent to the Global SME Business Summit, CII and MSME organized India SME Expo, with an objective to provide innovative solutions for MSME sector.

 

In the Valedictory session, Mr. T. T. Ashok, Co Chairman, CII National MSME Council introduced Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India and Mr. Madhav Lal, Secretary, MSME, Govt. of India. Hon’ble Minister Shri Kalraj Mishra discussed about various eminent factors such as overall development of SME’s , Innovation by small entrepreneurs, need of skilled manpower, various ways to develop talent of entrepreneurs, motivation and upbringing of rural, women, and SC & ST entrepreneurs. He also discussed about the need of common thinking to develop the nation, such as opening up of skill development institutions, incubation centers, manpower development, Zero Defect and Zero Effect policy. Shri Kalraj Mishra also released CII Report on “Performance and Credit Ratings: Giving Indian MSMEs a Cutting Edge to Complete”. The closing remarks of the Summit were given by Mr. Deep Kapuria, Chairman, CII Regional Committee, Central Europe. As a whole, the Summit was an enriching experience.
