IEEE I-talk Series

To make the students aware of the various opportunities in the professional world, IEEE NSIT organised an I-talk Series on 22nd January 2015 at NSIT, New Delhi. Three students Akshat Pokhriyal (16013), Deepak Gahlot (16046) and Divyanshu Kukreti (16058) from CSE Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended these series of lectures.

The key speaker was Mr. Ayush Jain, a distinguished NSIT alumnus. He has 3.5 years of experience with GRAIL Research on various strategic projects dealing with International clients. Mr. Jain selects annually IEEE student volunteers from Asia Pacific. He gave a brief view on the various career options which can be opted for after graduation. The three options available to a graduate immediately after graduation are seeking job in corporate sectors, to continue with higher studies such as MS directly after graduation or going for MBA in India or Abroad after three years of corporate experience.

Mr. Jain shared his experience of working in corporate sector on research projects and dealing with international clients in various projects. Focussing on research, Mr. Jain encouraged and motivated the students to actively engage in research work. He also shared the various ways in which an effective research paper can be written, including appropriate Title, Abstract, Introduction and references. Mr. Ayush Jain also told that before beginning with the research on any topic, the researcher should be aware of three essential factors such as What, Why and How. That is, what topic should be chosen to carry out research, why it is important to do research in that area and how to proceed with that work. At the end there was an interactive questions and answers session in which students raised their doubts about the career they should opt for.

The students found the event very motivating and aspiring. The session turned out to be very fruitful since the students got aware of writing quality research work and the prerequisites that are required to carry out a good research work.
