A Session on “An Innovative Digital Platform for Rural Development”

On 19th November, 2014 Ms. Pratibha Sharma, Ms. Sarita, (Asst. Professors, CSE Department) and Mr. Yashvardhan Soni (Associate Professor, IT Dept.) from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, attended India-US Technology Summit at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida.

SPRING has been collaborating with its US and India based partner Digital Green in adapting their "human-mediated digital learning approach" for the promotion of key maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN) and hygiene-related behaviors. As a pioneer in its field, Digital Green is now marrying agriculture-focused community videos with SPRING's nutrition expertise and messaging, reaching new audiences through mobile video screenings and facilitated discussions, with adoptions of key behaviors verified through home visits.

Digital Green’s main mission is to “Integrate innovative technology with global development efforts to improve human well-being” and organization work with existing, people-based extension systems, aiming to amplify their effectiveness through ICT-enabled approach. Digital Green model combines technology and social organization to maximize the potential of building the capacity of community members on improved, sustainable agriculture, livelihood and health interventions.
